Know the allowance before the first load
A1’s 16-yard dumpster includes up to 3,000 lbs. The 20-yard includes up to 4,000 lbs. The charge above the included amount is $100 for each extra 3,000 lbs on the 16-yard and $100 for each extra 4,000 lbs on the 20-yard. An overage step is a paid part of the package, not permission to ignore the weight allowance. If your job has a lot of heavy debris, mention it while booking and ask how it changes the cost. Do not estimate weight from how high the material reaches. Dense material can be heavy while the container still looks partly open.
Make a plan for dense material
Before loading heavy debris, identify what it is and how much you have. Concrete and dirt are not allowed in A1 dumpsters, and neither are tires. For other heavy materials, confirm with A1 before adding them. Roofing is one example where the contractor’s material list, roof area, and number of layers can help make the conversation more precise. A1 has not published a guaranteed capacity for every material or project. If you do not know the weight, tell Aaron what the job involves rather than offering a made-up estimate. You can also compare A1’s size guide and roof tear-off planning guide.
Spread material across the container
A load placed in one corner can be unbalanced, and a heap that rises above the top can interfere with safe pickup. Waste Management’s roll-off loading guidance recommends distributing items evenly and keeping material from sticking out of the top. Follow the limits A1 gives you for your container and do not move or climb into the dumpster to rearrange material. Load at a manageable pace and keep people clear of the truck and container during delivery and pickup. If you have large furniture or long material, ask A1 how it should be handled before delivery. The safest course is to describe the items and follow the rental company’s instructions for that container.
Keep the load below the top edge
Do not rely on the tarp or pickup crew to make an overfilled load acceptable. Leave the material below the top edge and avoid placing items so they extend beyond the container. If you are close to full, stop and contact A1 before adding more. Tell Aaron what remains and ask whether a pickup, another container, or a different plan is needed. Do not assume another container or haul is automatically available or included. A1’s regular rental window is 1 to 3 days, and each extra day costs $25. Same-day delivery and any next step depend on availability. A call can clarify the choices before the pile gets harder to manage.
Plan access and pickup early
Keep the area around the dumpster reachable and tell A1 about access concerns before delivery. If the container is on a street, city placement requirements may apply. Those rules vary by municipality. Visit the correct local page from the service areas list and check the official city source linked there. A1’s Denver page summarizes Denver DOTI’s rule about who pulls permits; other cities have their own guidance or city-site links. The rental costs $300 for a 16-yard or $350 for a 20-yard, for 1 to 3 days. Call or text Aaron at (720) 338-2178 with your location, project material, and target pickup date. He can confirm availability and talk through weight questions.
How much weight is included with an A1 dumpster?
The 16-yard includes up to 3,000 lbs and the 20-yard includes up to 4,000 lbs. Overage is $100 for each additional 3,000 lbs or 4,000 lbs, based on size.
How should I arrange items in the dumpster?
A1 recommends keeping the load evenly distributed and below the top. Waste Management also advises even distribution and no material sticking out of the top in its loading guidance.
Can I load concrete or dirt?
No. A1 does not allow concrete or dirt in its dumpsters. Tires are also not accepted.
